Listening to the Victims

Giving Victims a Voice

FAIR aims to give victims a voice and to help them tell their story. The suffering they have experienced should be recognised and dealt with and the first step is to listen to victims.

In the absence of an acceptable truth recovery process and the ongoing denial of justice to victims it is all the more important for groups like ourselves to develop our own truth telling processes.

It is always a difficult process for a victim to revisit the dark days of the past. That has been made all the more painful when they see how justice and closure has been denied to them. However many feel it is an important part of their recovery.

For too long they have suffered in silence, and as time passes it is important to establish the truth and to speak out. FAIR has always provided a platform for victims and helped them find their voice.

FAIR has launched their VIVA Programme, as they mark their 25th Anniversary. VIVA  – Victims Inspired Video Archive, is an exciting new initiative to help victims tell their stories and to record them for the future.

Our existing video projects and Archives will be developed and made accessible online as we create a lasting legacy which will provide a foundation for truth and justice.
