ADVOCACY
Providing a Voice for Victims
Victims' Voice
Families Acting for Innocent Relatives has since its inception provided a clear consistent voice for the innocent victims of terrorism. We have supported victims and families as they seek truth and justice. The clear desire of ordinary victims is to be heard and to help make the world a safer better place for future generations.
For over 25 years FAIR has worked tirelessly to give victims a voice and to provide practical support and care for the bereaved and injured. Our international advocacy and human rights work brought a spotlight onto terrorism in Northern Ireland and challenged those who supported it.
We have led the way in the fight for justice and support for innocent victims ensuring they get a fair deal. Behind the headlines our team of staff and volunteers provide a range to support services to those who suffered as a result of the Northern Ireland Troubles.
After over a quarter of century we have still not dealt with the past in a fair and just way. Victims continue to suffer and often are silenced when they speak out. Join us as we attempt to build a just and lasting peace in Northern Ireland.

Working Together in Advocacy
For many years FAIR led the way and even the world in advocacy for victims of terrorism. Pioneering the concept of 'lawfare' the group worked with international legal experts and firms to hold those who were involved in or sponsored and supported terrorism accountable. The ground breaking case against Libya for supporting, financing and arming the PIRA saw success in the United States with victims compensated. Sadly the campaign is still ongoing in the UK where similar support from the British Government has not been forthcoming.
For over 25 years FAIR has worked tirelessly to to help victims receive fair treatment, basic human rights like truth and justice as well as practical care and support.
The core element of this work is supporting victims who are often re-traumatised by the experience. Behind the media headlines or the high profile court cases the real work is providing support and care for victims. This has always been our primary objective and today we are supported by the Victims and Survivors Service to provide that basic care and support.
We work with a range of partners and professionals to provide access to the very best advice and advocacy services.
